I’ve decided at long last that this whole weblog-publishing software thing probably isn’t a fad and got myself a software tool to manage Screenshot. I decided to go with Moveable Type, because if I can’t use vi anymore to write my entries, at least I can have crazy CSS style sheets and perl scripts to wrangle on my own server. For now, only the past three months worth of archives are imported, but I’ll be continuing to suck them in over the coming days and weeks (or months, depending on how quickly the semester catches up with me and how far back I decide to go in the archives).
Please, click around, check things out, and let me know if anything is broken or ugly. I’m still playing around at this point. I expect things will continue to change for a while.

I see you are into Laurie R. King at the moment.(Night Work; Laurie King – With Child; Laurie King – To Play the Fool; Laurie King) Isn’t she great? I’m also a Sherlock Holmes fan and I got into her after picking up “The Beekeeper’s Apprentice” which I think is her first “take” on adding to the sacred canon of Doyle. Her Kate Martinelli mysteries are very enjoyable. You should read “A Grave Talent” if you haven’t yet.
“Beekeeper’s Apprentice” is how I discovered Laurie King – I’ve read all of the books in that series except the most recent one, where I am waiting for the paperback. It seems like all of her stuff is fun, though I like the alternate-Holmes ones best.
The other mysteries series that I read is the Karen Pelletier series by Joanne Dobson. An English professor at a small New England liberals arts college helps the police investigate the deaths of colleagues by untangling academic intruigue and literary mysteries. Good stuff – start with “Quieter Than Sleep”.
