Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook

Jennifer Darling (ed.)

My "basic" cookbook that I can't live without is the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. You must have the binder edition - the little paperbacks have the same recipes but it's just not right. The recipes aren't exciting, but they are good basic recipes. The instructions don't tend to be more complicated than necessary and most of the recipes are quite straightforward. I can't think of anything I've made out of this cookbook that didn't taste good, though admittedly nothing really is exceptional either. It's the cookbook you want around when you are looking for something easy that you plan on adapting. One exception is if you get the newest version of the cookbook; there is a fudge recipe in it to die for. Best fudge I've had in my life...
